All Victorian secondary schools – State, Catholic and Independent – are encouraged to book with F2D to run a workshop for Year 11 students. The F2D Year 11 Workshop was delivered in 220 secondary schools across Victoria In 2013. The workshop is designed to support young people to make good decisions when faced with risky driving situations, whether as a passenger or in the future as a young driver.
It is essential that the F2D Year 11 Workshop is not seen as a 'one-off' session. It is part of a suite of programs designed to reduce the incidence of road crashes involving young people. This includes Keys Please for Year 10 students and Looking after Your Mates for Year 12 students. F2D also offers follow-up youth forums where young people selected from different schools can develop leadership skills and help to develop a community road safety campaign.
Schools are also encouraged to explore the wide range of high quality road safety education teaching resources available to Victorian schools.
